Details:
Ryan Case and Ed Puckett have been making great music for nearly a decade. They have been in punk rock bands and folk bluegrass bands and everything in between. They have toured the southeastern college bar circuit since before they were allowed to drink. The original idea for The Victrolas first took shape in Athens, GA. where Ryan and Ed were living in early 04''. It soon became apparent though, that a change of venue was needed to really get the band in full swing. Music City, USA is where the duo landed at the end of 04, and quickly began making a name for themselves.

Josh Case, Ryan‘s brother, had been living in Nashville for a couple years and writing songs. He’d been playing writers nights, and had a few cuts with some independent artist. While his writing progressed and became stronger through his experience in the songwriter for hire profession, he missed the energy and instant crowd response to your material that you get from playing live. He, Ryan, and Ed all began writing together and before long Josh had picked up his old bass guitar and was practicing his chops. All that was needed was a drummer, enter Brandon Nice. Fresh off the plane from Australia, where he had just graduated from SAE (Sound & Engineering) college. Brandon was looking to get back into playing drums live now that the business of getting his degree was complete. The 4 met through a mutual friend and have been jamming ever since.

Since coming together The Victrolas have far surpassed the goals they set early on. The have been featured on Billy Block’s Western Beat, the longest running alt. country showcase in the country. They have appeared on Americana Tonight with Mark Wehner. The Victrolas Have been featured on the Movement Nashville website and in 2 Movement Nashville shows. They have assembled a street team that promotes their Nashville shows with reckless abandon, putting up 400-500 flyers every time they play. After only a year together there are few people in Music City who do not know their name. While a few different management and publishing opportunities have been on the table, for now, The Victrolas continue to forge ahead with their independent spirit

Today the 4 friends are driving around the country promoting their new self produced record "Drop the Needle" that was released in January of 07''. The record as been getting great reviews in the short time it has been out. Austin filmmaker John Reeder agrees comparing them to a Country Weezer and Mark Wehner host of Americana Tonight, on XM radio says "Now, this is a band you want to keep your eye on."
