Details:
WORKDAY SCHOOLNIGHT is made of just one guy, Bart Trotman. These songs were grown and harvested on a cold dark moon in the musical universe. Bart Trotman discovered this moon although it orbits a planet inhabited by rock bands such as CAN, Yo La Tengo, and Radiohead. This planet is in orbit around an old star, Brian Eno. Or at least that''s how this particular solar system is seen through the ears of WORKDAY SCHOOLNIGHT.

Bart Trotman does his best to incorporate many different sounds and styles into his music, which makes it hard to sum up the album as a whole -- the following is a song by song breakdown.

CALLING THE SHOTS is about counter-rythyms and heavy synth, casiotone noise explosion, egg shaker, and the troubling nature of making decisions.

OF THE END, TOO MANY is scarce on lyrics but is ever changing from one heavy rock riff to another. It''s about overpopulation.

SAFECAR is based in 70s krautrock - all the lyrics are palindromes! An upbeat rocker

THE TIME IT TAKES TO READ -- instrumental swell and fall, think of Eno''s Another Green World

YEARS ON YEARS -- heartfelt, soft song -- only song that follows verse/chorus format. vocals kinda like whispery Yo La Tengo, rhythm section kinda like Tom Waits.

THE POLICEMAN SAID -- title and some of the lyrics inspired by Phillip K. Dick ---- featuring a found sound sample of a school''s principal on the intercom requesting data. Also lots of marimba and paranoid lyrics about the state of our country.

GOLDEN RAINDROPS -- old beat up classical guitar looping - with various percussion, layered vocals, odd time signatures and a Radiohead inspired freakout.
