My earliest memory of singing began during my family’s weekend trips to visit my grandparent’s in Upstate New York. It was a long drive, so to pass the time my siblings and I would take turns choosing songs to sing.
Being one of seven children provided plenty of different types of song selection from “Old McDonald” a particular favorite of my Baby sisters, to the latest Beatle hits. But when it came time for my father to choose, we were all quiet and anxious to hear his deep baritone voice sing “Old Man River” or one of his favorite folk songs.
My father pleaded for all of us to join in, and although we sometimes did, we often times sat quietly and listened to his deep voice fill the car with rich brilliant musical tones. My father inspired me to sing from my heart and my childhood memories of his voice often come to mind as I am singing.
Amy began singing onstage at the age of ten. She has enjoyed performing in musicals such as: Once upon a Mattress, Plain and Fancy, Fiddler on the Roof, You’re a good man Charlie Brown, Pajama Game, Carnival as well as cabaret and choral performances. Amy is a graduate of Utica College of Syracuse University, Utica, New York. She is also a graduate of University College of Syracuse University, Syracuse, New York. Amy received her MBA from Wagner College in Staten Island, New York.
A Miracle of Love began as a simple demo CD project. Along the way Amy was fortunate to work with Chip Fabrizi, engineer and owner of PPI Recording, Inc. in Manhattan. Chip was instrumental in raising the project to a new level, including by introducing Amy to George Small, who had worked with John Lennon, the Mamas and the Papas, Eric Clapton, Cole Porter, Stevie Holland and many others.
Chip and George offerred Amy a great opportunity to sing some of George''s original compositions along with the songs Amy already had covered. These songs, on Amy''s debut album, are Take it From My Heart, Gotta Reason to Love Again, Only In A Dream, and what became the title track, A Miracle of Love.
With the initial tracks finished, George and Chip had one more magic trick up their sleeves to provide an incredible finishing touch to A Miracle of Love - the presence and talent of guitarist Kenny Brescia. Kenny has worked with Chaka Khan, the Mamas and the Papas, and Wilson Pickett. He has also added his talent in the studio for such artists as Adam Pascal.
All told, Amy has had an amazing experience, and plans to continue her fantastic journey. Check back often for updates, and be sure to sign up for e-mails and bullitans at https://www.tradebit.com and on myspace at https://www.tradebit.com
