Details:
Anomaly is an independent, multifaceted alternative-rock band from Phoenix led by frontman and principal songwriter Michael Herman. From humble bedroom beginnings on a keyboard and a second-hand guitar to the release of their first full-length album and beyond, the band has engaged in creating honest, original music influenced by the rock, folk, pop, jazz, and classical genres. Anomaly recently finished recording their debut album, entitled ''Teen Magnet Poetry''. This is a collection of songs primarily inspired by the experience of growing up, with subjects including finding one''s place in the world and a series of unworkable loves, among others. The album incorporates varying musical elements such as guitar breaks and through-composed lyrics into more familiar song structures, frequently dark and subtle but not without its share of rockin'' good times as well.

Herman, whose intricate guitar riffs and smooth melodic lines have been wooing the ladies for years, is currently joined on the guitar by Eric Wilson, who was chosen out of a pool of hundreds of applicants by acheiving the highest score on Red Octane''s "Guitar Hero" video game. Sir Herbert Washington V, Esq. adds a touch of class on the keys and harmonies, while the Anomaly lineup is rounded out by Kyle "Lord of Bass" Lords and Ian Cole, the drummer with one arm (not really). David Missal, long-time collaborator and overall awesome guy, continues to contribute to the effort behind the scenes. Together, this superband remains steadfast in their goal to one day rule benevolently from their thrones in the halls of rockdom.
