The Jewett story is long, tedious, unfathomable and heart wrenching all at the same time and would take many years to detail, so, the gist:

Jewett (hometown boy consistently making good, well semi-consistently anyway) is a veteran of two Oklahoma rock bands (Kerowac Jack and Taming Enos), following the disBANDment (pun? nah) of Taming Enos in 2002, Jewett commits himself to the arduous process of improving SIGNIFICANTLY as a singer and a songwriter.

Let''s just say that Jewett is an underground journeyman. Not a miner per se, but more of an unrelenting burrower of the figurative sort. The process has been some years in the making but has yielded a veritable slew of considerably pragmatic songs that have the essence of his personae draped all over them.

The release of the LP "a brief look at the new you" is the culmination of that effort. Produced by Oklahoma legend Dr. Neal Tiemann, the record is an exploration of the universalities that Jewett hoped to find co-mingling in the intertwined fabric of his psyche and someone else’s everyday life.

The record is great, the production impressive, the mixing and mastering stellar and the songs well they have spirit and intent. But don''t take my word for it, just listen a bit, you''ll see.

It seems that this story is going to be different. To paraphrase an unnamed 20th century icon, it is to be a classic affirmation of everything good and decent in the American culture. This group is different. We''re your friends.
