Gompa was formed by the two lead vocalists,Jake Daniel (Scarborough England)and Mike Pehrsson(Zurich,Switzerland) in London 2001.

Jake spent most of his youth singing in soul, rhythm n'' blues and pop bands. He started playing drums during his time in the UK Royal Marines.
Mike grew up surrounded by 50s Rock n'' roll and as a teenager, played in many Grunge/rock bands and won a few battle competitions.
Both of them have a very serious history of alien abduction. It was through this curse that they met each other, in February 2001. Having been abducted by the same pod-ship, they bumped into each other during an attempted escape and soon realised they shared three similarities: Music, interest in esotheric philosophy, and a life as abductees.

Gompa spent several years in many different constellations, a famous cult classic being their format in London in 2002, with Grim Reaper on Bass and an odd looking transsexual reincarnation of Tomas Aquinas on keyboard. Eventually they recruited the dutch mathematician Jeroen Bos as the first steady bassplayer (featured on the album).
Through their mutual karma, the threepiece managed to find their very own Gompa-house. This was the Home Farm, in Teynham, Kent- a 400 year-old haunted house in the middle of nowhere, which is where the first stages of the album began. The constant poltergeist activity and attacks by rabbid rats served not only to frighten the house''s inhabitants, but also to inspire and give rise to myriad a mystical partynight.

Gompa since moved to Sweden, as ordered by Zlotec, chief of the Naga (one of the many alien races occupying and ruling our planet blue). There they met Anus, aka C.C. Svensson, who has since become their producer and acting manager.
Gompa''s music developed very much during the recording sessions (march-sept. 2005). The perfect combination of Svensson''s pop background and feeling for catchy hooks, Mike''s grungy 7-string guitar, Jakes manic drumming and the latest in musical software technology (all of which, I might add, is alien in origin) lead to the final result. A new type of rock, perhaps?

Still, you may be asking, ''What the hell is this Gompa thing, actually?"
Gompa is a band with a mixed european nationality. The members are from England, Switzerland and Sweden. They are devout fans and deeply inspired by the likes of P-Diddy, Jay-Z and of course Usher.

No but seriously...
Gompa is unity. They stand for freedom of music; there is no need to put a label on everything, which is what the music industry and all those idiots in the business have a need to do. Gompa''s music reflect what may be perceived as two opposite extremes: Lyrics inspired by the meditative philosophies of the far east, with pretty melodies and choirs, and nasty, heavy, detuned metal riffs.

The ''G-Force Killaz'', as they are affectionately named by their hardcore audience, have been cleaning up on the underground music scene of Stockholm, and are ready to surface into the sick and perverse world of pop. They have been described as ''The Beatles with 5 additional members from Slipknot'' and ''The Beach Boys meet Korn and get into a happy but fatal fight''. Their music is a hybrid of good old fashioned song writing, with strong melodies and catchy hooks- and heavy, aggressive riff-based grunge/metal. With the music world being the pimp that it is, Gompa have been finding it very hard to break into the radio or TV, their music being, apparently, too diverse to pigeonhole. Nevertheless, the "G-Boyz" are preparing for their album release in Scandinavia by the beginning of 2007.
