Biography
Hailing from the Southside of the City of Wind and going ten-years strong, Ill Nature is a seven-member band of musically skilled emcees and producers. Collectively, they are a force of unconventional creative freedom building on the fervor of old school hip-hop. Unlike the 90’s era of hip-hop that Ill Nature was inspired by and lived in, Ill Nature feels emcees today are corporate and industry driven versus skill based and skill driven. Thus, Ill Nature’s mission is to bring skills and honesty back to the forefront of the Hip-Hop culture and the streets.
The seeds for the group were planted during their freshman year of high school, when Strap met childhood friends Trilogy and ProWonda. After numerous ciphers during lunch time and recording freestyle sessions at Strap’s house (Strap would mix industry instrumentals and the three would pass the mic around and freestyle, recording it live straight to tape), the three linked up to form the group “Ill Nature” in late January 1996. Band members include: Strap, Kaos aka Jack Blackout, Prowonda, Eliottness aka Lochness, Trilogy, Piero and Buzz B aka Lords of The Fly. Additional crew members include producers and Mcs Prolyfic, Enzyme9 and Kimest.
Recent performances include the Molemen release party for “Chicago City Limits Vol. 1& 2 featuring solo songs by Ill Nature artist Kaos aka Jack Blackout, the Abbey Pub in August ’06 and the Amplify Music Comp Fest in downtown Las Vegas at Celebrity Theatre summer of ’06. Ill Nature previously released and sold 6,000 copies of “Da Go-ILL Faction Mixtape.” The groups talent grants them the opportunity to collaborate with such artists as Lupe Fiasco, Mass Hysteria, Chicago based DJ Timbuc2 and Trina. Ill Nature’s hip-hop influences include: Eric B and Rakim, Biggie, Nas, Gangstarr, Onyx, M.O.P., The Roots, Wu-Tang Clan, D.I.T.C., Flipmode, Jay-z, Common Sense, 2-Pac, Boot Camp Click, Goodie Mob, and Outkast. Currently under contract with I.N. Records, the band recently released a new mixtape titled; “Case Closed” and they are working on a new album.
