INSIGNIA es una banda de Pop/Rock en Guayaquil, Ecuador que nace en 1996.
La idea de la banda fue siempre el trabajar con material original, y es así como deciden presentarse al mundo: con un concierto de música inédita.
Ante la sorpresiva respuesta del público, Insignia recibe ofertas de varias casas disqueras ecuatorianas interesadas en grabar el primer CD del grupo.
Diferencias conceptuales impiden concretar el proyecto, e Insignia decide producir y grabar el CD por sus propios medios y en el 2003 sale al mercado EQUILIBRIO.
La banda escoge 11 temas que muestran la diversidad creativa en sus composiciones y al mismo tiempo revelan un equilibrio musical que ha convertido a este disco en una de las propuestas mejores y más interesantes de los últimos tiempos en la música ecuatoriana.
El primer sencillo promocional, “Desafiaré” ocupó el primer lugar de ranking en varias estaciones de la ciudad. “El Duelo del Marinero” se mantuvo por varias semanas en Top10 nacionales. “Déjame Amarte” y “DiscoThing” sonaron con fuerza en las radios ecuatorianas.
Y hubo un movimiento underground donde la canción “Desconocidos” llegó a ser considerada la canción bandera de la banda y el mejor reflejo del estilo único de la propuesta con la que Insignia dejó su marca.
Como Bonus Track Insignia incluyó “Volver a Casa”, una canción de Navidad que se dio a conocer en otros países, como España y Estados Unidos, y cada Diciembre se escucha en más radios y segmentos de televisión.

INSIGNIA is a Pop/Rock band in Guayaquil, Ecuador that was born in 1996.
The idea of the band was always to work exclusively with original material, and this was how they decided to appear to the world: with a concert of original music.
Due the surprising response of the public, Insignia receives several offers from different Record Labels interested in recording the first CD of the group.
Conceptual differences prevent the finalization of any agreements, and Insignia decides to produce and record the CD by its own means and in 2003 they present EQUILIBRIO (equilibrium).
The band chooses 11 songs that show the creative diversity in their compositions and at the same time reveal a musical equilibrium that has made this CD one of the best and most interesting offers of Ecuadorian music.
The first single, “Desafiaré” (I Will Defy) occupied the first place in ranking of several radio stations in the city. “El Duelo del Marinero” (The Sailorman’s Duel) stayed in the Top10 of many national stations for several weeks. “Déjame Amarte” (Let Me Love You) and “DiscoThing” were heard with force all throughout Ecuadorian radio.
And there was an underground movement that considered the song “Desconocidos” (Strangers) as the band’s standard and the best reflection of the unique style of the proposal with which Insignia left its mark.
As a Bonus Track Insignia included “Volver a Casa” (To Return Home), a Christmas song that became known in other countries, like Spain and the United States, and every December is played in more radio stations and TV segments.
