Details:
"Just B" (Brian Bickel) began his recording career in the summer of 2005 when "A" (Adam Afridi) brought his acoustic guitar over to jam before a Bob Dylan Concert. In Less than a year they had called themselves DIFFERENCE DRIVER, and released 2 full-length albums. "Devil On My Shoulder" released in October 2005, featured several live jams welded into tunes later in the studio via overdubs which created a loose, relaxed, yet soulful feel. "Soul Seeker" released the following year, had a more quiet, introspective and private feel which is in credit largely to Adam’s strength as a songwriter and lyricist. Both CDs are available on https://www.tradebit.com as well as all the legitimate music downloading sites including iTunes, MusicNet, Rhapsody, eMusic, Yahoo Music, etc.

Following DIFFERENCE DRIVER’s 2 studio releases, Brian began assembling material for a solo album. After browsing through previously recorded material he realized there were some diamonds in the rough that he had recorded with some of his talented friends. Why not include them in on the fun?

Most of "B-Sides" are songs that Brian wrote and recorded on his own. The album also features the released recording debuts of a few of Brian''s friends including his talented Texan brother-in-law Tom Rose, his former High School marching/garage bandmate Jeff Hodge, and community tromboner/organeer Tony Puntuzs. In addition, the album contains tracks previously recorded but unreleased with Adam.

Additional Album notes:
"Another Drink?" – written on the Ukulele in the backseat of B''s parents’ car on a trip to Indianapolis to visit his sister & family for Christmas.

"Doomsday’s Comin’" – Written almost spontaneously well after midnight with B’s longtime friends Jeff & Tony after a night out on the town after noting our recent past birthdays. Since we’re not getting any younger, we better start enjoying the time that we have. Jeff quickly scrawled out lyrics for the song to be recorded later – on the evening time changed to daylight savings.

"Musti Likes Cheese" – an ode written several years ago to B’s then-girlfriend’s cat’s love of le fromage.

"My Mustache" – A classic love triangle. Boy meets girl. Girl falls in love with Boy’s Mustache. Boy ends up jealous and alone.

"Once In My Life", "Soggy Froggy Romp", and "Disappointed" – All songs written and recorded with Adam during the "Soul Seeker" sessions. A different version of "Once In My Life" is featured on "Soul Seeker", in which Adam sings.

"You Know It Well", and "Take My Hand" are both songs written by B’s talented Texan brother-in-law Tom Rose and hastily recorded back in November 2005. Brian finally completed the tracks some 18 months later.

Thanks for listening,
B
