Formed by Easy Big Fella boys Steve Mandl, Aaron Simms and Rick Dybvad in Seattle in 2001 as a smart, alternative to the stale local rock and pop offerings available at the time, this trio of singer-songwriters pulled together a tasty pop 6 piece with the addition of Mike Fanning,and Shawn Brockman, Tom Adams (Tom had to leave the band in 2005)after Tom leaving we recruited long time friend Kevin Crosby. The timing was right, the song writing flowed, but the first incarnation of Natalie Wouldnt was shook up by the departure of Steve in 2002. Rick filled out the missing guitar slot, and the quite original blend of Ska, Soul and Rock-and-roll was conceived. This combined with in-your-face, tongue-in-cheek lyrics, had Natalie Wouldnt working the larger clubs in and around Seattle. From Seattle''s Fenix Underground to the Folklife Festival and Victoria Ska Fest, Natalie is on the upswing. The new CD reflects the kind of true collaboration that happens when a band is developing a new sound live in rehearsal and on the stage. The current line-up is the best yet as the live show proves; not only a stunning collection of talent, but a shared vision about the direction they''re taking as a band. Soon to be released, the next mix of songs recorded by Natalie Wouldnt includes new tunes such as such as "This is the End", "Move Out", "One of Those Days", as well as a previously rare collaboration by Aaron and Rick entitled "Ill Go", a Marley-esque, haunting yet upbeat unplugged gem. By 2006 Natalie Wouldnt is mature and experienced, having headlined several shows in Seattle as well as opening for The Suburban Legends, The Toasters, MU330, Westbound Train and Satori at such venues as The Premier, Fenix Underground, The Central Tavern and Studio 7. With an enthusiastic audience excited by a new wave of ska bands, Natalie Wouldnt has the credibility of having ex-members of Moon Ska Records recording artists Easy Big Fella (as well as other Seattle-area musicians from various other bands), the resulting collaboration creating music that is much more than ska- a smooth mix of Ska, Soul, and Rock-and-roll.
