the "band Name" Stretcher-Bearer come from my fascination with World War 1, and early medicine. I could never settle on a name for a Project but this one seemed to sum up my interests.
I Put"band Name" in quotes because I basically write,perform,record,all of the music and lyrics. I don''t play live, so I''ve had trouble gaining recognition for my work. I LOVE recording, and love watching live shows and meeting other artists,but I believe that once a song is written and recorded thats it. I move on. I usually start with a basic Skeleton of a song and write the music around it, allowing for improv. I don''t really believe in ''Mistakes'', I believe it''s the unconscious choosing the notes...to a certain degree. I like the mistakes that I can play off of, that add a Human aspect to the song.
I Originally am from Arizona A small town Named Kingman, on the CA/AZ/NV border. by the Colorado River. Much of this Album is derived from my Surrealist/Dadaist Impressions and memories. There is a theme to this album, but no real plot. I think it''s more of an unconscious,Stream of consciousness sub-plot. I try to make albums with this kind of Interconnectedness, but without too much ramming a Leitmotif down the listeners throat. I try for an Interconnection, yet try for the songs to be strong enough to stand on their own.
My sound has been called Dense,and me and my friend used to Joke about it being Acid Goth. But I try to make songs that are Aurally interesting, trying to find new sounds. and yes Tripping people out.
I find it very satisfying to sit in a room with a few people Smoking Herb and listening to my albums. To me It''s satisfying to hear their comments and see their expressions,answer their questions. I enjoy the Intimacy, to me the music is Me, It''s very Psychologically Personal and I hope to convey that in my work.
