Believe The Dream
Jim Vilandre''s "Believe The Dream" caught my attention right away. His title track "Believe The Dream" is a great story song that all artists will identify with about dreaming as a child of singing songs from a stage and then that dream becoming reality as an adult. Jim is a great songwriter and singer both. Though a solo artist, he immerses his vocals in layers of harmony, with a sound reminiscent of 4 Him. I love the beat in "A Better Man." Not only is it one of my favorite songs, but also it catches that prayer in all of us of wanting to be a better Child of God down the road than what we are now. Jim slows it down some with his ballad "The Ideal World." One thing I learned looking at the credits is not only does Jim sing, but he plays quite a few of the instrumentals on this project as well. Good job, Jim! Jim brings a variety of sounds to the listener from rock in "Unconditional Love" to a slight country sound in "Something More" and, of course, classic contemporary in the majority of his songs like "You Are Holy."
