ROCK: Psychedelic, METAL: Doom/Stoner Metal
Hello. I am Martin Ear. I''ve been playing guitar for about 40 years. I''ve been married for 34 of them to a lovely girl that has supported all my endeavors. Karen has been my Bassist, Synthesist for the past 8 years and we currently are rehearsing new material. I have never conformed to any particular genre, but most of my material has been in a Rock vein. Growing up on Hendrix, Cream, and other guitar driven bands, has provided my central core of reference, but it did not stop there. Since that time, I have listened to just about everybody out there, and I take a little bit from all of them. I drifted into the Punk Era, Progressive Rock, Avante Guarde, Experimental, etc., and always apply what I''ve learned to my central Rock Core. I am 53 now, and have no plans on stopping what I truly love to do. I love overdriven walls of sound, long, painful guitar solos, and have never been a pretty boy rock star, nor do I aspire to be. This has kept me out of professional music work most of my life, and I have no regrets. I have not played in a cover band since 1980, and I have no technical Vai, Satriani type skills, but I can smoke most of these cats with the fervor and passion I apply to my songs. This is my opinion, and I do not expect anyone else to feel the same way. Timber Shivers was born in 2000, to put paid to these songs that had been kicking around since the 80''s. I used programmed drums and did the entire thing at home on a Roland 8-Track. The quality of the songs, (and vocals), is not the greatest, but I can still listen to it and get enjoyment from it. I am making it available now, with the hope that others may get something from it too. I have more material that I plan to release in the near future. Thank you for reading.
