Jump, Jump Roll''em Up, the third release by children''s music singer/songwriter Melanie Ann White, includes all original songs with a pop style for children of all ages.
By day, Melanie is a children''s music educator/consultant working with public and private elementary schools to find creative means to integrate music into the core curriculum to help reinforce lessons taught by teachers in reading, math, science, social studies, astronomy, geography and even earth science. Towards that end, she developed a very unique "teacher friendly" music program for grades kindergarten through sixth.
According to a reporter from the Los Angeles Times Inland Valley Voice, in a front-page feature article titled "Out of a box, music that works", "Melanie White''s program for elementary schools captivates students and is praised by teachers."
With more than 20 years of teaching experience, Melanie is a firm believer in the benefits of the role of music in the education and development of children everywhere. At the same time, she always maintains that music should be fun for children of all ages, as well as, for family and friends to share.
Over the years, as a direct result of many of the children and their parents requesting a number of the songs contained in the ''grade-specific'' music program, Melanie decided to produce a CD with a collection of songs from the elementary school music program plus other fun songs which she has written and recorded. Hence, the release of this latest CD, preceded by "Hip 2 B Me" and "We Are One".
Since the age of 6, when Melanie began playing the piano, followed by many years of studying classical music, Melanie had always envisioned teaching at the college level. However, after completing her graduate studies in Music History, she took on the challenge of establishing a strong music curriculum at a local private school. As they say, the rest is history as Melanie never looked back at teaching college courses as she fell in love with working with children and bringing fresh sounding music into their lives.
Today, Melanie has a way of crafting music in such a way that even the quietest of children get up to sing and dance. Melanie''s wish is to reach children across the land in order to provide them with the opportunity to experience the wonders of music in opening their minds.
