URBAN/R&B: Rhythm & Blues, ROCK: Modern Rock

Details:
The Buoyrockers started playing together about twenty years ago while holding down summer day jobs in the 1000 Islands Region of upstate New York. All three members of the band were songwriters and as they shared their songs with each other, it became clear that each person''s individual style (of playing and songwriting) complimented the others'' songs and performance as well. From the beginning, they focused on playing original music instead of covers and they developed a fan base that came to know and expect the group''s songs.

Even though the tides of life took the three members in different directions during the 90s, they were still able to play occasionally. With the new Millennium and the relatively low-cost accessibility of high quality digital recording equipment, the three principal members decided to produce a CD and make an effort to revive the band despite living in distant locations from each other.

A number of friends make appearances on the album, including Deron Robert Johnson, a former RCA recording artist currently on tour with Seal. He has also played with Miles Davis, performed at the Grammy Awards, and toured with Alanis Morissette.

Monica Behan of Los Angeles, CA, sings lead vocals on I Believe. Ms. Behan has previously released a self-titled CD, Behan Johnson, with husband Deron Robert Johnson.

PJ Wilson plays drums. PJ recently signed with Atlantic Records and is working with a group out of Pittsburgh, PA. Dave Alderson plays lead trumpet on Old Sneaker Blues. Dave previously played with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra.

The Buoyrockers are Dave Knapp, Win Price, and Tom French.

Dave Knapp was a principal member of The Shadows, The Snow Monkeys, and The Dawg Rockets. He has opened for Willie Nelson, Blue Oyster Cult, Marshall Tucker Band and Rita Coolidge. He is the owner of D.A.K Design & Constructing, Inc. on Wellesley Island.

Win Price is a history teacher at Jordan-Elbridge High School in Jordan, NY, and has played in The Eileens, Royal Flush, and With Candor. He is also currently a member of Mere Mortals in the Central New York area.

Tom French is a resident of Potsdam and teaches English in Massena. He is a regular commentator on North Country Public Radio and a freelance writer. His work has appeared in such publications as The Adirondack Explorer, The Amethyst Review, and The Bellowing Ark.
