Old School Abbey at T.O.O.T Festival- Lewisburg BILLBOARD

The Taste of Our Towns (TOOT) festival has been a great place for emerging talent to be heard by a large and diverse audience. This year is no different. American Beer/ Budweiser will introduce Old School Abbey at the T.O.O.T Oktoberfest stage from 11am to 1pm. Hailing from Beckley, WV, the band is posed to take the region by storm. Headed by acoustic guitar duo Nick Durm and Matt Mullins, the band draws in audiences of all ages, with stellar instrumentation by Matt Gibson on lead electric guitar and Brandon Grose on drums and percussion. Listeners are sure to enjoy both Old School Abbey''s original songs and their unique take on a variety of covers. Durm, who has played with many bands, decided to part from his former pop-punk sound and get back to his roots. Matt Mullins, who previously recorded a solo album, came to Durm with the idea of playing shows together. Both Durm and Mullins saw they needed a little more flare and recruited a hometown icon in Matt Gibson with his stunning guitar skills to join the band. With its fan base growing quickly, the trio began a search for a drummer and a bass player to round out the group. They soon added talented youngster Brandon Grose on drums and amazing bassist Dave Snodgrass. The band is moving forward, with plans to record their first album together.

"Old School Abbey Serious About Their Music"- Adam Treadway, The Register-Herald
“Summer usually means breaktime for college students. No class and more free time. But not for the members of Old School Abbey. Even though they are not taking any summer classes, they do not have much free time. The five students spent the summer travelling and doing what they love: making music. The five, who write their own songs, are gaining in popularity. When they go back to school this fall, they have decided not to put their music on hold. They make no secret of the fact they wish to perform professionally some day ... that day might not be far away.”

"Girl Like You" Album review for O.S.A
Brian Showalter~The River 102.3
If you are a fan of high-energy, college pop/rock look no further than southern WV''s Old School Abbey. The pop quartet consists of Nick Durm (rhythm guitar/lead vox,) Matt Mullins (rhythm guitar & vox,) Matt Gibson (lead guitar) and Brandon Grose (percussion.) Old School Abbey''s debut album, "Girl Like You" draws on the band''s experiences with relationships both past and present. The band has a knack for writing upbeat acoustic pop/rock numbers ala Howie Day and Jack Johnson. The standout tracks on the album are "Common Knowledge" and "Girl Like You." "Girl Like You" is a polished love song that is driven by Matt Gibson''s lead guitar riffs and Nick Durm''s determined narrative. "Common Knowledge" shows that OSA isn''t just a pop-rock band. With Matt Mullins'' chilled out delivery, this bluesy song shows the quartet''s introspective side. Grose moves the song forward with his precise taps on percussion. The end result is a feel good crossover song that shows the band''s musical depth. With songs such as "Common Knowledge" and "Girl Like You," it’s easy to understand why Old School Abbey is the hottest college band in southern WV. They played Fosters in Beckley, WV to over 200 fans last month and have gained a Budweiser sponsorship in the process.
