Tina Marie Sharkey Always dreamed of being a star since the time she was a little girl. She began to sing and develop a great love for music at age 7. From singing " New York, New York, " while dancing like the Radio City Rockett''s, on the patio for family gatherings. To memorizing the lyrics to Barbra Streisand''s song " Evergreen, " and singing it as she jumped on the bed in the bedroom. Her big sister was amazed. Even though she loved to entertain, Deep down Tina was a shy and humble little girl. She was born in Phila P.A. and rose in a small town of South Jersey.
She was a very ambitious girl and could not wait to get out into the real world. she started to work at age 12. She sold candy door to door and she was always the top sales person of the team. At age 14 she began to sell magazines on the telephone. Her ambition to advertise and sell was so good. The owner of the Company himself delivered her paycheck hand to hand one day. To see who was making all the money.
With 4,000 in the bank she bought her first car and began to hang around with the local bands. Dreaming that someday they would make it really big. She soon learned it was all about sex drugs and rock and roll, and she made her separate ways for something more. At age 18, she left school, to be swept away by the city lights of Atlantic City N.J. She got a job in the Casino business.
She worked there for 4 years. From counting a half of million dollar bank, for the VIP and coming out even. To giving out comps, and dealing Black Jack or Craps she never missed a day of work. She soon fell in and out of love and was headed for a big fall. On welfare with no car and no other place to go she became a dancer. Tina thinks this was a very good learning experience for her. It helped her break out of her little shell and for the first time she felt beautiful.
She enjoyed dancing, because it was the music that she loved and she had to dance to it every day. She danced for 2 years, bought another car and left the business. She returned to school to study TV & Radio, Performing arts and Drama. This is when she discovered her talent in writing. Tina says, " She always had it in her and it finally came out in 1996. " She has written more then an albums worth. She is looking for agent and she is anxious to get a deal. So, she can work fulltime on what her heart truly desires.
