Details:
“Well it''s clearer past the gates, I will try to make it worth your wait...”
This opening line from Buzz Meade''s new album CELEBRATE sums up the conviction and lengths that this singer songwriter from Wisconsin went to make this new album his best ever.

Now a 21 year old, Buzz Meade already has a long career in music.

THE BEGINNING...

Buzz started at a young age on the drum set and learned guitar at 14. Almost immediately he got the “writing bug” and began crafting and recording original material. Buzz was greatly influenced early on by guitar legends like Stevie Ray Vaughn, rock bands like Collective Soul and Everclear, and great writers like Bob Dylan and Cat Stevens. By age 16, he was playing the clubs and bars of central Wisconsin with musicians 2,3, and 4 times his age.

This was also the year he first gained radio play on Madison''s WJJO with the alternative rock band THRILL HAMMER (in which he wrote material, sang lead and played lead guitar.) He also gained radio play shortly there after on the local pop radio station in Wis. Dells WNNO.

Around this time, Buzz returned to the recording studio to begin his first solo album “535." Buzz performed on all instruments and it was a good beginning point for his solo career.

THE COLLEGE YEARS...

Next, Buzz continued on to the University of Wisconsin Stevens Point, where he continued to play all around Wisconsin with THRILL HAMMER. They performed at such places as Madison''s DUDLEYS, Wausau''s ROCKWATER CAFE, and the BOODIEGRA festival in Baraboo Wisconsin. They also soon performed their first of two live television performances on Madison''s channel 5.

In Stevens Point, he also recorded his second solo album “Both my Dads are Salesmen." Recorded over the course of his college freshmen year, this album garnered a “runner up” spot in Los Angeles''s IMX DISCOVERY CONTEST. This album also gave Buzz a showcase spot in Portland Oregon''s NORTH BY NORTHWEST MUSIC FESTIVAL (NXNW).

Audiences around this time were pulled into shows by great writing, vocal performances, and a “high energy” attitude that has stayed in Buzz''s shows even to this day.

Over the 2000 summer and his sophomore year at UW Stevens Point, Buzz returned to the studio to record “THE PRINCIPLE OF DISINTEREST." This solo album received lots of local radio play around central and eastern Wisconsin. Marquette''s WSUM also began to spin this Buzz Meade CD.

NON STOP GIGS...

During this time, performing once or twice a week, THRILL HAMMER or the newly created BUZZ MEADE BAND was playing new and exciting gigs.

THRILL HAMMER was invited to play THE ROCKWATERFEST in Wausau Wisconsin, which was headlined by Grammy award winning band TRAIN. Buzz also partook in BATTLE OF THE BAND contests at UW STEVENS POINT. Along with other college friends, Buzz won back to back (1st and 2nd semester) contests.

THE BUZZ MEADE BAND also had great opportunities around this time. Still pushing Buzz''s CD “The Principle” this band earned a “house band” status at the “Lighthouse” restaurant in the tourist meca town of Wis. Dells and performed every weekend to packed crowds. New festivals came calling as well, hoping that adding Buzz would bring the people to their events. He performed at Castle Rock''s WATERFEST, Black River Falls BATTLE OF THE BANDS, Stevens Point''s RUSTY''S and drew the largest crowd at the ADAMS COUNTY FAIR.

At some of his last gigs in 2001, on his own and sometimes in partnership with the venues he performed at, Buzz urged people to bring in food for local shelters in exchange for a free past CDs of his. This was extremely beneficial for both new listeners and needy food shelters in Wisconsin.

The summer of 2001 saw both bands continue to play out and around Wisconsin until Hollywood came calling for Buzz.

LOS ANGELES...

An opportunity to live, play and perform in Hollywood California, proved to good for Buzz to pass up. In the fall of 2001, he relocated to North Hollywood California to back the techno rock artist Sean Hutch, who''s CD was produced by award winning writer, musician, and film composer Billy White Acre. Buzz held down guitar and backing vocals duties.

With Sean Hutch, Buzz performed at such fabled spots in Hollywood as “The GARAGE," “THE COCONUT TEASER” and a new LA hot spot “MC REDS."

Here he continued to learn about the industry and grow as a musician, often meeting with managers, entertainment lawyers and other talented musicians. He also recorded with other musicians and even at CORNERSTONE STUDIOS in which such bands as MOTLEY CRUE and ALL 4 ONE recorded.

Celebrate...

Upon his 21st birthday, Buzz began to record his 4th solo CD - this time in a top studio in Los Angeles California. With respected world percussionist/drummer/studio owner David Haddad engineering, Buzz produced this new CD at the top of his game.

Recorded in Los Angeles California at “The Womb“, CELEBRATE is a new 5 song CD from this talented singer songwriter. Staying true to his acoustic roots, this very musically diverse CD, has something for every listener.

Reflective of adolescent years and growing up experiences, CELEBRATE commemorates life and is full of hope and honesty.

Guest musicians included the Los Angeles based Andrew Thomas on bass, David Haddad on percussion, and Buzz‘s younger brother Marc on keyboards. Buzz himself held down all vocal, guitar and drum tracks and produced the entire CD.

The Future...

“A trip that changes your outlook on the world is priceless” a popular TV commercial states, and that couldn''t be more true then for 21 year old singer songwriter Buzz Meade. Older and wiser, Buzz is more in touch with himself, what his music is, and his place in the world
