Details:
Currently based in Portland, OR, Amy Bleu is an up and coming solo artist and singer-songwriter. She is a self described anti-folk folk-singer, but many liken her sound to the alternative folk artist Kristin Hersh. Her Vocals, which range from a controlled scream to a mesmerizing lullaby are hauntingly beautiful and her lyrics poetically express anguish and joy with poignancy, depth, and pathos.
Amy began her music career in Portland with a semi-regular gig at Mississippi Pizza Pub in 2002. The following year she relocated to Spokane, WA, to record her debut album, Renegade Angel. The album was released on her own label, Sad Girls Records, which has since been renamed Bad Girls Records. The album has been well-received by fans and critics alike.
Bleu spent 2004 and 2005 in the Southwest, touring around Colorado and Arizona. After honing her skills and gaining exposure in the region, she returned to her native Northwest in the summer of 2005. She is touring in support of her new album, "Snake Charmer".
