Tommy Byrd began his musical career in El Dorado, Arkansas after being inspired by seeing the Beatles play on the Ed Sullivan Show in 1964. He has sung in several Texas and Arkansas bands since 1967 and has been under contract with Stax Records in Memphis. He sang with the Geezenslaws and did harmony vocals with Willie Nelson on "Amazing Grace" on the LP The Sound in Your Mind. In 1986 he wrote the winning song in the Official Song of Austin contest sponsored by the Austin Chamber of Commerce. He was top finalist in a national songwriting contest sponsored by TNN in 1998. Byrd''s songs have been recorded by Austin band, Stop the Truck, and Austin singer Mady Kaye. In 2002, Kid''s Acting in Austin used three of his songs in the production, The Emperor''s New Shows. Piano Press has recorded a song that he co-wrote called "All of Us Together" for a CD called Kidtunes. And he''s written numerous jingles for radio play.
KATHY STREET
Born in Philadelphia, raised in a big family in Mt. Holly, N.J then Texas, Kathy''s background includes folk and contemporary vocal groups since 1970. She and her sisters also performed as a quartet. She has acted and sung in musicals including the roles of Elsa in Zach Scott''s "The Sound of Music," Eliza Doolittle in "My Fair Lady" and Adelaide in "Guys and Dolls." She was one of three performers who produced, acted and sang in Broadway Cabaret and Broadway Cabaret II in Austin in 2001. She also won numerous three-legged races with her sister when whe was ten.

BYRD AND STREET
Kathy and Tommy joined forces in the spring of 2001 and have played and sung their original music at many Texas venues. They recorded "We Must," a response to the events of September 11th. Austin publisher Ten Tex is promoting the song to artists in Nashville and L.A. In December of 2001 the singer/songwriter team appeared on Fox 7 News in the Morning. In spring 2002 they won a first place award in the Austin Songwriters'' annual contest with "Close Your Eyes." They were featured on KUT''s Austin Music Minute in March of 2002 and KUT''s Live Set in May 2003. They were invited to perform at the Kerrville Folk Festival as regional winners in the spring of 2002 and 2003. January 8, 2003 was declared "Byrd and Street Day" by Austin Mayor Will Wynn at the opening of the first City Council Meeting of the year with a performance of "Just an Old House." And they were selected to perform at the Southwest Regional Folk Alliance Conference in Austin in Oct. 2004.
