What do you get when the mystique of Eastern music meets the progressive rock of the West?

You get Rendall Wagner and his band forging new ground in popular music. Currently on his ‘East Meets West’ tour to promote his second album The Art of Illusion, the music is familiar to lovers of classic rock, but ingeniously incorporates elements of Eastern cultural music.

You will hear a diverse range of instruments and influences at a Rendall Wagner concert. It’s all rock, it’s great original songs, it’s a fusion of progressive rock with Middle Eastern, European and Asian cultural music that messes up your senses then forces your brain to adapt. The pulsations of the Wagner Band will open your mind and ears to new possibilities in rock music. This show delivers with hard rock, ballads and world music all in one excitingly diverse package.

Rockin’ The Free World
Rendall’s music has variety and appeal for all, including the die-hard rockers. His debut CD: Aum is testament to his versatile and diverse style. His song ‘You''ve Got To Have Love’ has been mistaken for a Bryan Adams single. He has also won an award for best song on 100.1 North FM - The Australian Songwriter Show for ‘Set Me Free’. His songs range from one end of the rock spectrum to the other and he performs music with classic rock influences as well as ground-breaking new sounds. Some lyrics deal with current political and controversial issues like Land Of Sunshine (featured in An’R Magazines POPCOMM 2004 issue) written about the power struggle of Australian aboriginals; Men Of Hope specifically about the mental anguish of Vietnam veterans; and Rosemary, written after an Anzac Day “dawn service” about the blood spilled at Gallipoli. His latest offerings from The Art Of Illusion give you a development of style that builds on Aum, fusing classic rock with Indian and Turkish music.

Live Tour 2006

A humble performer and known for his distinctive guitar style Rendall happily shares the spotlight with his fellow musicians who are also incredible performers in their own right. Together they make the ’East Meets West’ tour a fantastic experience for any audience.
