With his laptop in one hand and guitar in the other, Scooter Scudieri is reinventing the rock star and redefining independent from his humble home in Shepherdstown , WV . Foregoing the traditional methods of an agent, manager, or record company, Scooter is utilizing high tech and high intensity to promote his music around the globe. His fans dubbed him the Internet’s first rock star, an arguable distinction, but one that he does not take lightly. Scooter considers himself a soldier on the frontlines of a music revolution. He has been a pioneer in digital-do-it-yourself and now represents independent artist rights on Capital Hill through the lobbyist group DCIA. His music offers a powerful affirmation of the human spirit and is the driving force behind his mission.

Scooter is inspired by life, love, and the human struggle to interpret the world and our place within it. He has an uncanny ability of turning negative into positive and thoughts into action. His musical influences are eclectic, ranging from Kiss and David Bowie to Bob Dylan and Neil Young with soul, punk, and folk thrown in for a unique and arresting acoustic style.

Scooter is a self taught singer-songwriter-activist who has opened for more than 30 international acts including Dave Matthews, Nils Lofgren, Widespread Panic, and Jason Mraz. He recently completed a 19 date tour of the United States opening for Jewel in prestigious venues such as Constitution Hall in DC and The Greek Theatre in LA. Scooter launched his conceptual FIRSTROCKSTAR campaign at the Global Entertainment and Media Summit in 2002 and the story continues to grow. Scooter consistently defies theo dds and obstacles of the industry by circumventing the antiquated music business model. He has released three critically acclaimed albums and now releases all his music and videos via the Internet and licensed legal P2P. Scooter has also created theme music for video games. Inn the year 2000, scooter raised $50K through his fan base to record an album in NYC. Scooter’s lecture on the future of music “Capture Your Spirit, Keep Your Soul™” debuted in 2002 at The Berklee College of Music in Boston , and now tours colleges and universities across the country. He is a member of the NAPM (National Academy of Popular Music), the DCIA (Distributed Computing Industry Association) and is endorsed by MEIEA (Music Entertainment Industry Educators Association). Scooter’s Internet exploits have been featured in Billboard, Goldmine, Music Connection, and The Boston Herald, to name a few. He has appeared on Mountain Stage, VH-1, NBC 25, Dateline WV , and Dick Clark’s Livin’ Large.

Scooter''s success is reflected in his many awards including two Telley Awards, and a Golden Web Award in 2004. He was selected as 2003''s Best of the New Writers, by the Songwriters Hall of Fame, for which his song “The Usual” was placed on Volume One: Best of the Songwriters Hall of Fame compilation CD. In 2005, Scooter joined forces with Santa Monica ’s famed EZTV and released a video for his controversial song “Mother of God.” The video is a no holds barred critique on religion, politics, and war. It was shot guerilla style with handheld digital cameras in churches, mosques, and temples and utilizes war footage from the National Archives. Since its release, Scooter has had the unique reputation of being the *most searched* independent musician on the P2P networks. In 2005, Scooter was invited to submit written testimony to the US Senate Commerce Committee Hearing: Issues Relating to MGM v. Grokster. He was invited by United for Peace and Justice to perform at the massive peace rally and march in the Nation’s Capital on September 24, 2005 . His video has been downloaded hundreds of thousands of times and searches for his name have hit the 50 million mark on P2P networks. Scooter is currently organizing a sponsored digital media campaign and working on a three screen multimedia show set to tour the country.

He is a full time artist and lives with his wife- artist Kelly Scudieri- and daughter Sophia in Shepherdstown , West Virginia .
