MP3 Tom Byrne - Stone Circles and Spacerock

Spacerock with celtic influences - incredible but true.

10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Progressive Rock, NEW AGE: New Age

Details:
Striving to combine mathematics, music and mythology, Tom’s fourth album ‘Stone Circles and Spacerock’ draws on celtic and progressive influences to deliver songs based on subject as diverse as a Michael Moorcock novel to a cult of human sacrifice in ancient Ireland. The Fibonacci series features in the rhythmic structure of the album’s opening and closing songs, and compositional styles include rock, classical and modal – all in one album!

A sample of early listener reviews of the album tracks:

Rocking to the Cosmic Callsign:

"Yes... here comes Tom Byrne, a virtuoso keyboard player that brings us some of the best performances of the independent Progressive scene!

Tom has a strong celtic influence in his tunes, he likes themes that include Druids and the ancient British traditions... but he can also make our minds travel along with his space rock tunes.

“Rocking To The Cosmic Callsign” is a fantastic track, very well recorded and performed. The synth sounds are amazing and remind me of the epic style of Rick Wakeman. The use of the Fibonacci series in the construction of the track add originality to the tune."

Congrats Tom, excellent work!

The Warlord of the Air

"... almost hypnotic expression on vocals, organic mix of acoustic and electronic devices... development is as intelligent as playful (with marvellous change of tempo), and ironic happiness (the hymn around 4 minutes makes me smile)..I would like to recommend this psychedelic monster to everyone, who likes the adventurous flair of the 70s too!"

D-Rider (Hawkwind cover)

Enjoyed by the composer Nik Turner, who has advertised the track on his website.

Lost Times

"Very beautiful arrangement with delicate and rich arpeggios, haunting concertina like synth parts. I hear lutes and almost a gothic hurdy-gurdy like quality in the voices as well as soft strings acompanying. Very nice treatment of period music. Evokes images of green rolling fields dotted by woodland areas of country side. Brilliant!"

Trentham Awake!

"I already listened to this BEAUTIFUL song four times... and probably I will listen to it some more...
You know that I like your music a lot, but this time you wrote something that touched me in a different way..."

( hmm...listening again... )

A Short Life (live)

"I remember this tune... it´s a collab between Tom and Alien Dream...Michael Blackman plays this beautiful guitar solo, over Tom Byrne´s excellent keyboard playing..."

Cromm Cruach

"This epic narrative of spoken word over an impressive electronic keyboard score tells the terrible but true tale of child sacrifice to a god that didn''t exist apart from being a graven image and a god that did nothing in return. Wasted lives in the name of religion and a spectre that still haunts the world! We never needed such deities in the past and we don''t need them now! An excellent work dealing with some very serious subject matter!"
