Details:
Deloris Bowman is a talented and dedicated artist with a three-plus octave vocal range and dynamic stage presence. Although Gospel is her musical preference, she has also performed R & B, Jazz and Blues before a diverse multitude of audiences.

Deloris’ musical talents permeated expansively within the political arena to Off-Broadway theater, as well as at reputable hotels and restaurants. Her performing credits include: The Inauguration of President Bill Clinton and Mayor Bill Bradley’s Presidential Campaign in New York City. She has ministered in song at Carnegie Hall with the “Gates of Praise” Choir for the Peter Jennings Memorial Service.

Deloris has traveled extensively with the legendary female Motown group, The Marvelettes and has toured throughout the USA, Europe, the Caribbean and parts of Africa. She has performed in Off-Broadway Musicals, namely, “Mama I Want to Sing” and “Sweet Daddy and Amazing Grace.” Her provocative voice has been heard throughout indelibly renowned restaurants including The Village Gate, The Copa Cabana and Sweetwaters. Four-star hotels such as the New York Hilton, Sheraton, Courtyard Marriott are no stranger to her musical gifts.

Born in Virginia, Deloris Bowman was literally raised as a child of music in New York. She began singing at the tender age of 4 years old in the Sunbeam Choir of The St. John’s Baptist Church in Copiague, NY. Church played such a powerful role in shaping her infectiously emotional style that by age 17, she had become the director of their youth choir. Having dedicated several years of directing over 75 young adults, Deloris relocated to New York City to pursue a professional career in music. Since that time, she has expanded her creative reach to becoming a songwriter, recording artist and actress with dance experience.

A few of Deloris’ gospel songwriting/recording credits include: “Lord, You Promised,” “Goodness and Mercy,” and “Hold On.” Other songwriting/recording credits include: “Stop Pretending You Love Me,” “He Loves Me Right,” “Every Once in A While,” “Late in the Evening,” and “All the Woman You Need” which was selected to be played at the ASCAP Music Workshop.

Deloris has trained with Frank Hatchet in Jazz Dance; Nathan George & The National Black Theatre in acting; and Joe Williams vocally.
