Jon Ray Leslie is a singer/songwriter from Los Angeles whose moody, intimate, and melodic songs make you inhabit his music rather than just listen. Jon started writing original pop rock songs at 13. A multi-instrumentalist he draws upon his many influences ranging from softer rock ballads, alternative, to pop rock. Jon’s songs infect you with identifying to the music. Jon was influenced by his father and mother who were also entertainers. When Jon was 12, famous comedian Lenny Bruce’s mother, gave him a handful of quarters to start saving for a guitar. He remembers her saying “get that guitar and never let up” ,“ be made of steel“. Jon’s song “Steel“ featured on the Emmy award winning show “Joan of Arcadia” is a tribute to his childhood influences and his passion for music.
After hearing Jon’s song “Somedays”, music supervisors began using Jon’s songs regularly for the show “Passions”. Jon’s music has also been featured on MTV’s ”The Real World”.
Currently, Jon is writing, producing and recording music in the studio. More of his music is due for release in late 2007.
