Who Is Lord Luther????
Lord Luther is a Legend, and Icon that got started on the Central Coast of the Monterey Peninsula, and is a genuine crowd pleaser with lots of exciting energy and passion with a unique soulful singing style dancing and musicianship.
He enjoys performing in smaller lounges (500 or less) more than large concert venues because of the intimacy and eyeball to eyeball connection. And best of all, he was born to please.
He loves to make people happy with his music and singing from the heart and have as much fun as his listeners and dancers.
Lord Luther AKA Luther McDaniel was born in Panola County Texas, and was professional a gospel singer age 12 and performed in churches throughout east Texas.
Moved to Salinas (Monterey County Central Coast) California at age 15, attended Hartnell Community College in Salinas California where he met and formed the Doo Wop R&B singing group “The Four Deuces”.
He wrote and recorded the best seller “WPLJ” (White Port and Lemon Juice) then “Down it Went” and “The Nest is Warm but the Goose is Gone”. They performed at such Venues as the Fillmore Auditorium in San Francisco – the Oakland Auditorium in Oakland California – The Palomar Garden in San Jose California, just to name a few.
Upon disbandment of the Four Deuces, he continued recording and performing with his own band and recorded “Just One More Chance” and “I Can’t Get You Out of My Mind” and “Someone Somewhere”.
Came back to the Monterey Peninsula in the mid 60s and recorded “The Truth” and “Thinkin Man’s Girl” - “Two of A Kind and “Tough” - “Turn The Key’ and “You Led Me On” and more!
Recorded on Imperial Records of Hollywood, Frantic Records of Monterey and Lusan Records his own Label.
Performed at such Venues as the Monterey County Fair Grounds and the San Carlos Hotel of Monterey, The Hollywood Palladium in Hollywood California and various Lounges in Las Vegas and throughout the Mid West.
Personal appearances on TV channels 11 in San Jose CA channel 20 in San Francisco and channel 3 in Sacramento California.
