“Everything happens for a reason. Nothing is by chance.”

For Tiffany Stone Richter, the words to her song ring true, not only in her life, but in her music, and now with the release of her solo debut album, “Dawning Of A New Day,” she sees many reasons for pursuing her artistic dreams and brining her music to the masses.

Let’s go back. Tiffany began singing at six months old—literally. “She couldn’t form the consonants, but she sang the melody to the Mickey Mouse theme song,” reflects her mother and songwriting partner Debbie. From then on, if there was a stage, Tiffany found her way onto it. Spanning from her elementary days throughout her teenage years, Tiff was the consummate performer: festivals, conferences, pageants—you name it, she was there.

Tiff composed her first song (with mom’s help) at age 6 and recorded her first project at age 13. On the cusp of a collegiate career, she was asked to audition for The Arnolds, a southern Gospel trio based out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Tiff sang with the group for five years, recording three projects and a concert video.

From there, it is a veritable smorgasbord of performing opportunities that filled up Tiffany’s musical schedule. Every venue was perfect for her ever-increasing range and style: churches, civic centers, performance halls, restaurants, jazz clubs, private parties, ensemble variety shows, jazz festivals, collegiate choir performances. She was even seen on the Turner Broadcasting Network. She has shared the stage with such Gospel acts a The Cathedrals, Ernie Haase, The Kingsmen and the Gold City Quartet. On the jazz side, Tiffany has shared the stage with Frank Mantooth, the Tony Campezi Band and Slide Hampton.

She even found time to sing jingles for Cloud Nine Productions. Call herself “the mall singer,’ Tiffany’s voice could be heard all across the country, even in Hawaii, at everyone’s favorite shopping spots.

Tiffany studies at Northeastern State University, graduating in 2000 with a degree in vocal music education. During this time, she expanded her musical repertoire and began singing vocal jazz. Performing with a small ensemble—and sometimes a big band—Tiffany gigged around the northeastern Oklahoma/northwestern Arkansas area.

Upon graduation, Tiffany began her teaching career at Sadler Arts Academy in Muskogee, Oklahoma, and taught there until 2002, when she left for Austin, Texas, to work on her Master’s degree in music. She attended Texas State University-San Marcos.

Upon completion of her degree, Tiffany was asked to remain on faculty where she lectured and even taught the university’s vocal jazz ensemble, VocaLibre. In the spring of 2005, Tiffany wrapped up her time in Texas to marry John Richter. The new couple moved to Cullman, Alabama, where she’s been ever since. She currently teaches at Wallace State Community College.

But it’s the music that keeps people coming back, and connects old friends with new experiences. Her faith and dedication take center-stage on the project, described by Tiff as “a labor of love.” And as the title implies, she focused on the completion of it NOT being an end, but only a starting point.

“The failed attempts, the missed opportunities, the coulda’s, the shoulda’s and the woulda’s are laid to rest with this project. At one time, I would have been scared of an ending like this. But now I understand. It’s only the dawn of something new,” says Tiffany.

“Everything happens in its season”—and for Tiffany Stone Richter, everything is just about to bloom.
