Biography Ton Snijders
Ton Snijders was born on July 18, 1960 in Lisse. He started playing the piano as soon as he could tell the difference between black and white. After finishing training as a schoolteacher in primary schools, he decided to follow his heart. In 1984 he started to study piano at the Hilversum Conservatory.
After playing in several church bands he started his musical career in earnest, by being part of the ‘Coopertest”. The band made several recordings, which included a number of his compositions.
In 1991 he met the famous Dutch singer/composer Frank Boeijen. Ton joined Franks’ band in 1991. A fruitful cooperation ensued, leading to numerous cd’s in which Ton cooperated. Live they performed for more than a decade in Holland and Belgium.

As part of the band accompanying Youp van’t Hek and the Mantangi Quartet a cd was produced, containing a number of songs by Youp van’t Hek.
At the moment Ton just has finished a tour with Liesbeth List and Alex Verburg, a famous dutch journalist and writer.
After producing soundtracks for tv programs, he decided to pursue his ultimate dream. In 2004 he started the recordings for his first solo CD/DVD, called “Zwaluw 22”. (Swallow 22)
To help create his dream he asked the following musicians to help him:

Ton Snijders himself played Piano, Fender Rhodes, Harmonium, Hammond B3 Organ and composed and arranged all numbers.
Sebastiaan Koolhoven made the arrangement for strings,played by The city of Prague Philharmonic.
Eric de Bruyn, an artist from Nijmegen (Holland) created all the visuals on the DVD,
except “ Nacht in Nr.14” and “ de Weidse Vlakten” by Bart Beckers and “ Nacht op Aarde “ by Sytske van der Ster.
At the moment Ton is creating backingtracks for a dutch tv program, called “ the X-Factor “.
