Edward Trybek, classical guitarist and composer, is a multi-award winner and has garnered rave reviews of his musicianship, putting him into the upper echelon of America''s young talented artists.
In the international circuit, Mr. Trybek has performed in Greece, Canada, France, Thailand, Japan, Germany and Austria, in addition to his regular US concert appearances.
In the prestigious 49th Tokyo International Guitar Competition, Mr. Trybek’s silver-medal performance impressed his critical audiences with his masterful technique and superb musicality. Mr. Trybek was the first American to have won this prize, except for his mentor Maestro Tennant who won gold in 1989.
In the year 2005 Mr. Trybek earned three gold medals in competitions including the 5th Thailand International Guitar Competition; the Portland Guitar Competition; and the University of Southern California Concerto Competition.
Mr. Trybek''s devotion to classical guitar is reflected in his current debut CD, "A Portrait of Edward Trybek." This recording contains a diverse range of guitar music, including music written for lute and harpsichord, affirming Mr. Trybek''s superb musicality and his deep understanding of the composers'' works.
As the protégé of Maestro Scott Tennant, Mr. Trybek has been mentored to use his unique gift to amaze and inspire the audience with his captivating performances.
At the age of seventeen, Mr. Trybek was commissioned to write a ballet score for a special project for the High School for the Performing and Visual Arts in Houston, Texas. In the same year, Mr. Trybek was selected as a finalist in the 2000 Turner Classical Movie Young Film Composer Competition.
Mr. Trybek plays a 1975 Daniel Friederich guitar from the Evelyn Zneimer Collection.
