I followed the methods exactly as Shawn described. It took 14 minutes to create and upload the video. When it was done, I tweeted the URL. Checked back 33 minutes later not expecting to find anything, and sure enough, my video was at #1. (I don't way to say what the keyword is though, as that would give too much away.)
I will say that, as has been pointed out, this won't work for just any keyword. But Shawn shows exactly what it WILL work for, and for those, it certainly does work. And with a little creativity, the possibilities are endless.

I have been looking for a way to produce videos using simple and free methods without having to join a members area and forum .

I have already been using the Stealth keyword tool to locate some easy to rank for monetizing keywords with good search volume.
By using this "newbie friendly" technique in Shawn Anderson's Wicked Simple Video package I will take action creating videos using targeted "easy to rank for " keywords driving traffic to my blogs and for my offline clients.
Video is much easier to rank for then pages.
From my own Seo experience I then will backlink the videos( that are making money) with a few indexed links to make them stick. If you can get it to rank initially because of using low comp keywords then it will only take a little backlinking from my experience to keep its position for a while.

#1 - Shawn is good people. If he puts his name on something, you can be sure that it's kickass.

I just ran a test.
Tired of fighting with SEO at the moment, on a Skype chat with my graphics guy I decided to take a stab at something.
IT WORKED.
I tried again.
BAM.
Page 1 of Google in under 5 minutes.
All of the sudden a light bulb went off.
I tweaked my method.
#1 in Google, not just first page!
Just publishing a 20 second video with a link back to my money site.
