Details:
When it comes to rock and roll, few indeed are the bands that can truly carry the title of a Rock and Roll Band. In a world where the prepackaged rock star is paraded about like a county-fair cow, Triggerfish has emerged as a bellwether for what is rock, and what is not. Calling Upstate, SC its home and the world its stage, Triggerfish has but one mission: To be identified as the rock and roll band.

The story of Triggerfish is best told by first acquainting you with the individuals that comprise it. With a mouthful of Beta-58 microphone and a jet black Stratocaster, Jeremy Scruggs brings attitude and charisma back to the role of the front man. He started as a hard-hitting drummer and evolved into a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter with a love of things kept simple. A native of upstate South Carolina, Jeremy has spent time on the music scenes of Nashville and Atlanta, and has toured the nation with various and sundry acts. With his relatable lyrical style and flowing sense of melody, he established a solid name for himself as a solo-acoustic performer. Even then, he refused to fit the profile. He was notorious for upstaging full bands with his high energy and outrageous cover selection. Next, standing at about 6 feet and 1 inch, and fitting comfortably into a size 2, is the band’s youngest member and bassist, Kyle Nicholson. Just eighteen years old, and fresh out of high school, Kyle found much success with his former band Ploma Drive. Kyle was soon off to the city to attend the Art Institute of Atlanta and further pursue a career in the music business. Given his unique bass riffs and keen sense of style, Kyle is the kind of bassist that every rock and roll band should have. Bringing weight and additional melody to the quartet, along with attitude and face-shredding guitar licks is JJ. He has toured with such bands as Left On Green, Late To Bloom, Serene, and Four Daze. He has shared stages with Ed Roland of Collective Soul, Butch Walker, and Bret Michaels of Poison. JJ accents each and every tune with a blood and guts playing style that is essential in every band that claims the label of rock and roll. Finally, providing tempo, back-beat, and long hair is Ryan Goodson. A drummer of only six years, Ryan earned his reputation as one of the area’s most innovative drummers while touring with Apollo Creed. As a hard hitter and meticulous craftsmen, he is perfect for the job at hand.

Triggerfish fell into place in the fall of 2006. Shortly thereafter, they caught the ear of an independent record label, Electric City Records, in upstate South Carolina and were signed to a deal. Soon after, Jeremy and Kyle decided it was in their best interest to add JJ, make a personnel change at the drummer position, and cut ties with ECR. Their plan from here is to build a grass roots following by playing as many shows as possible. With a hot-selling EP presently available and a full length album on the way, Triggerfish has the drive, work ethic, sound, attitude, and talent to reset the standard for rock and roll bands across the board.
