Introducing Casper A. Thomas
Hello my name is Casper Thomas and first of all I''d like to thank you for stopping by and visiting my site.I hope you''re blessed by what you here. I''m an independent solo contemporary gospel artist from Oakland Ca.I grew up in Oakland and as a child attended Lockwood Elementary, Havenscourt Jr. High, Oakland High School, and later Southern University where I began to develop my song writing and musical skills. Although I wouldn''t consider myself much of a musician, I did manage to master some sequencing and drum programming skills and all the lyrics were given to me by God. All the songs on the album where produced and arranged by me, as well as all lead and background vocals with the exception of "It Was You" which was produced by my friend Robert Green. I like to give credit where credit is due, but I thank God that none of the songs were done without the help of my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, without which I could do nothing.
My love for music started early and now that I think about it, I guess I''ve been singing every since I can remember, whether it''s been in church or in school choirs, hallways or showers. I don''t know how well I was singing but I just had a desire to sing. I didn''t always sing gospel either I love to imitate the Jackson 5, cause I kinda looked like Michael when I was a youngsta you know with the big natural and all, the old Michael!! Or the Temptations and the whole Motown sound. I''d enter talent shows and open mic and karaoke club scenes, but it wasn''t long before I realized that, that was not what God had gifted me to do. I further realized it after God called me out of the darkness into his marvelous light, and I received him as my Lord and Savior.
"My Secret Place", my first completed project, is a compilation of songs that attempts to describe the relationship between a man and his God. It''s intended to captivate you song after song with the sincerity of the lyrics and the ability to put you in a place where you can actually feel what I''m feeling and experience the deep sincerity in which I attempt to convey my love for God. By the time you realize it you''ve gone through the first 5 or 6 tracks and you''re deep into the 12th and 16th track of the album.
The album was dedicated to my sister Inita Thomas who past in 1997 of cancer. She was 37 years young, and needless to say I and my mother were devastated, being my moms only daughter and my only sibling. I''m sure you can relate if you''ve ever lost a loved one. But we thank God that she had long before received the Lord Jesus and we know that "to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord".
I thank God that He said "he who findeth a wife findeth a good thing" my good thing is a wonderful virtuous woman whom I love very much, her name is Sabrina Thomas. We have three children(Andrina,Brittany and Andre), a cat, a dog, a picket fence, a mortgage and the Lord Jesus Christ in our lives who keeps everything descent and in order.
Well thank you so much for taking the time to get to know me a little better and I hope that what you hear in the music will inspire you to purchase the CD, and that it''s a blessing to you as much as it was a blessing for me to be use by God to create it.
