Details:
OVER THE WALL: So I let you stop and leave and the guilt settles like dust. Stillness sinking through my skin and something there says I must. Go outside and stand in the light, feel the air, hear the leaves. “Fall where you are. I will catch you, I will carry you – for I love you. Consider the Lilies…” Over the Wall is the fouth album released by B. J. York.

Born in 1952, B. J. York was raised in the bowl of California, in the small town of Porterville, a ten minute bike-ride from the Sierra foothills. There, she grew up in music and dance. York was influenced by her father, a jazz clarinetist, and her mother, a pianist and vocalist. Through her father''s eclectic musical tastes (Carmina Burana to Dave Brubeck) and her mother''s voice and warmth, York started to pursue her own musical interests. York has experience performing in various choruses, giving and receiving guitar lessons, singing in a California garage band, and studying vocal performance in college. Currently, she performs and teaches privately in the music and dance mediums around the Pittsburgh, PA area.

“Through joys, sorrows, travels of a marriage that ended in friendship, and all the other "collected treasures" of living, these songs, these pieces of play, reminiscence, and dawning awareness, have come to be. They continue to haunt and form into light. They continue to flood my mind and the page with more images and questions.” – B. J. York
