Carlyn Lindsey & SnakeDoctor is a top band (since 2004) that hails from one of the biggest, little music cities in the country - Bloomington, Indiana - 40 miles southwest of Indianapolis, and only 75 miles northwest of Louisville, Kentucky. They are a six-piece blues and R&B dance band with a decidedly urban jazz feel. Multi-instrumentalists and singers-all, they feature and showcase guitar, tenor sax, flute, bluesharp, clarinet, trombone, keyboards, bass, drums, and cool and tight vocal harmonies backing the incredible lead vocals of the incomparable Carlyn Lindsey!
They have risen to the top of a very competitive market. Not only is Bloomington the home of the Indiana University School of Music, one of the most renowned music schools in the world, it is also the hometown of such musical giants, past and present, as Hoagy Carmichael, Joshua Bell, John Mellencamp, Jenn Christy, David Baker, John Hiatt, Carrie Newcomer, and now, Carlyn Lindsey & SnakeDoctor.

Carlyn Lindsey & SnakeDoctor is one of the star performers at the annual Bean Blossom Blues Fest in Bill Monroe Memorial Music Park (Indiana''s largest and most famous outdoor music venue). They have been featured at Bean Blossom the last three years (since 2004), and this year (2007), besides being featured on the mainstage, Carlyn Lindsey & SnakeDoctor have been chosen to be the host band for this year''s Festival Welcome Party by the Bean Blossom promoter.
