Details:
This singer/songwriter was born in Rhode Island, where he grew up and made his way to the bright lights of NYC by the age of 20. It was there that he graced the pages of local magazines and found himself performing on national TV.

Upon the end of a small and unsuccessful record contract, Jeff stepped off the stage and created some new songs and his own show where he graced the stages at clubs such as the Elbow Room, Meow Mix, Splash and Gay Pride. Discouraged by his inability to get a Major Recording contract, Jeff gave up and moved to Miami to lay low and try to live a normal life without music.

He said, "There was a time in my life after living and performing in NYC when I gave up on the whole music thing - or at least I gave up sharing my music with the public. But one day my Father called me and shared some devistating news with me - he told me he had cancer - lymphoma. I broke down like a little kid and out poured "Don''t Give Up." From that point on I couldn''t give up. After all, I wrote the song!"

Jeff went on to perform nightly in bars in South Florida and now has a new agenda. He has moved to LA and is looking to get his music heard for the benefit of others. "I am hoping that one day my songs will become recognized and I can contribute some earnings to finding a cure for lymphoma. I am doing this for my Dad. He is the one that taught me never to give up, so I refuse to stop until I have met my goal - a cure."

When Jeff was a kid he was enamored with and empowered by Joan Jett and he still is. Since then, he has been inspired by the passion of Joe Cocker, the soul of Stevie Wonder, and the lives of both Janis Joplin and Ray Charles. But it is George Michael that he gives credit to for teaching him how to sing. "I spent most of my childhood singing along to George''s CD''s. I think he is an amazing songwriter and vocalist and would love to one day sing on the same stage as him - with him."

Jeff Gleavey is truly original and sounds only like himself. He is putting himself out there once again, but it is up to you to hear it for yourself!
