From the coal mining region of Eastern Kentucky Glenn grew up with all the influences and genres of country, gospel and bluegrass music. After high school and a stint in the Navy during the Vietnam era, (1966- 1969) Glenn spent his hours on ship listening to the greats of the 60''s, George Jones, Porter Waggoner, Buck Owens, Johnny Cash and others. Glenn started writing and performing with a band he formed in the Northern Kentucky area of Newport and Covington. In 1972 in recorded his first record and Counterpart Studios in Cincinnati, "A Woman Took Me Home" and "Does It Always Rain on Sunday" was moderately received and had substantial jukebox play. In 1988 he moved to Nashville, Tennessee where he started his own record label,” Direct Hit Records" and music publishing company, Direct line Music, and GeeHaw Music, BMI. Glenn is a member of The Gospel Music Association, (GMA) & BMI and all songs are owned and published by GeeHaw Music, BMI or Direct Line Music, BMI. He did a cover recording of "Readin'', Writin'', Route 23" written by Dwight Yokum and had success and lots of airplay on the Hazard, Kentucky 100,000 watt powerhouse radio station. The record was a number 3 pick at cashbox also upon release. Glenn worked with various artists and managing companies in Nashville and joined the Stony Mountain Cloggers of the Grand Ole Opry in 1988 and danced with them on the opry until their retirement in September 1993. Glenn has been writing country and Gospel songs for years and has performed from Renfro Valley to Newark England at the Americana Car Show. Glenn has now moved to Florida in a "semi-retirement mode" to concentrate more on writing and publishing his gospel CDs.
