So, if you read my other bio page on the ''Real Eyes'' cd, you already know a little about me...my name is Ray, I grew up in Chicago, Minneapolis, Lake Zurich and Lake Villa, Illinois, now residing in the Paradise Valley of SW Montana.
When I was younger I didn''t know much, but I knew I had to live near mountains and share my music. Today, I get to do both...: )
The layers of a being; many and multifaceted, simple and complex...infinite diversity in infinite combinations...
The raising and being raised by my son is reflected in ''The Ray and Ray Song'', which Ray the Younger helped me compose...thanks Dude!! Time spent at my grandparents cabin in northern Minnesota since I was a small child in ''Cass Lake''.
I''ve included a shorter version of my brother Steve''s ''Potato Song''. I first heard this at a gathering of friends in Chicago, Steve just picked up this old guitar and started playing and singing. What I could not include, which no one could duplicate, was Steve''s current mood and feelings about his friends and family in his life...he just started talking while he was playing and told this story that was so wonderful...I won''t even try to duplicate it, it was a one time deal. However, the song can be a platform for any moment of gratitude. I am grateful to have been a witness on that evening...: )
Many thanks to Justin Haglund and his SoapMelon Recordings for his help in recording these songs...thanks man!!
The song ''Rain'' was just spontaneous...it just sort of happened...kinda like rain does...
I have to thank the staff at the Livingston Public Library for all their help finding me an internet terminal to create all this web stuff...Thanks!!!
Oh, I had to add this just cuz:
I have a 66 Chevy that the motor just crapped out on. My father just told me that my Grandmother asked him; "did Raymond leave a pair of underwear in his engine?" Jeez, I had to laugh...cuz it''s so true...I changed the intake gasket a year ago or so and I guess an old t-shirt I was using got left behind...: ) oops My learning tool,(the car) continues to educate me...
