MP3 Stacey Knights - Changing Midstream

Adult Contemporary

8 MP3 Songs
EASY LISTENING: Adult contemporary, EASY LISTENING: Soft Rock

Details:
Stacey''s third CD, Changing Midstream is named thus to reflect the shift in focus from Smooth Jazz to Adult Comtemporary. The saxophonist, singer, songwriter decided this time around to write and perform songs that feature her vocal talent. Her saxophone skills are evident during solo break in these songs but her warm clean vocal tone rules the sound.
This CD is a departure from the ecletic styles of her prior albums that featured her saxes, flute and singing. This time there is a cohesive style shining through here. From the R&B sound of "Cruel Kind of Love" to the Bonnie Raitt inspired reggae feel of "What I''ve Learned About Love", Knights shows maturity both in content and skill.
My personal favorites on this album are "Voices", and "Do I". "Voices" is a sincere ballad about handling the loss of a relationship alone. And "Do I" is a flirty funky New Orleans style piece that''s pure fun.
When asked about her motive to write "Flag Covered Box" Stacey responded that she wanted to write a non-political song about the loss of a loved one in the military. It''s a poignant and elegantly told tale.
Check out her cover version of "Hello" by Lionel Ritchie and "Black Velvet" as performed by Alannah Myles. Knights adds a wonderfully updated sound to both tunes.
Bravo Ms. Knights!
