Sylvester started teaching at a private school funded by the city of Chicago in 1982 called American Music Hall of Fame, which was organized by renowned jazz musician, the late Mr. Ben Branch. During that time, Sylvester drew an interest in music with synthesizers and decided to compose music of his own which landed him a recording deal Metropolis Entertainment Group Inc. Sylvester recorded his first album “Head Over Heels” in the fall of 1994 which was released in January 1995. He was on the cover of Showcase Chicago newspaper in March 1995.
