The Mishaps originally formed as a group of nameless troubadours in the harbor town of Bekkrthorpe in Mosekyre on the other side of our known galaxy. They spent their years traveling the hills of Ardbury as minstrels of the Kingdom of Mosekyre. Before their service was up as minstrels to the King they were forced into the service of The Royal Army of Tantagameda. Tantagameda was a new continent to the east which was run by a group of formidable overlords who were convinced they were given their power by Vortymyr the goddess of wisdom and justice. Our heros were given positions in the aerial navy aboard the ship knows as Njorwolfe. Each of them excelled as warriors of the sky and quickly rose through the ranks of the aerial navy until they controlled the helm of the ship. With the help of their crew they sailed the skies protecting the people of Mosekyre from beasts and monsters who had recently began to plague the local towns and villages.
As they rose in rank it became apparent to them that the beasts they were fighting were deliberately released by the elders of Tantagameda and used to scare the townspeople and royals of Mosekyre into submission. This way Tantagameda could use the fear of the people to reap the social and economic benefits of the land without scrutiny. This angered the crew of the Njorwolfe, and they decided to rebel and use the ship to travel the skies fighting for the integrity and protection of their people. They used the training and weapons that Tantagameda had given them to fuel their rebellion.
One evening they were sailing back to their base hidden between the mountains of Dalurfel when they felt a large thump on the side of their ship. They knew right away what it was and the call went out to man the battle stations and they drew their weapons. It was the Sky Kraken, a beast fought many times by this crew, defeated, but never destroyed. Tantagameda had learned of the uprising on the Njorwolfe and decided to silence it before it got out of hand. They decided to send the scariest most dangerous beast to achieve this task. Twice the size of the ship, with a wingspan twice its own size, its skin was leathery and covered in scars from previous battles. Her tentacles slowly wrapped the ship and rocked it back and forth, forcing the crew members to lose their footings. The crew attacked as one massive group weakening the grip of the huge beast. It let out a high pitched scream, but retaliated by swinging a tentacle widely across the bow splintering the front of the ship into tiny pieces.
Just then the winds picked up and the sky went dark. The sky was black, but had a bright purple tint, in all of their travels none of the crew had ever seen the sky like this before. There were sparks of electricity that looked as if little lightning bolts were bouncing off of the ship. The Sky Kraken struck again puncturing the massive balloon keeping the ship aloft. A dark smoke filled the air so thick that you could not see a few feet in front of you. The sensation of falling could be felt all across the ship. Soon they felt wet and the smoke began to clear.
As the smoke cleared they looked up and saw tall buildings and bridges. Apparently they had traversed space and time to a place they never knew existed.
Since their only means of transportation was destroyed they were forced to take up residence in the city they landed in, Baltimore. They also figured they should stay around to protect Baltimore, should the Sky Kraken return. Being forced into a strange city they did the only thing they knew how to do, play music. They adopted the name “the Mishaps” began playing in the streets and small bars all over the city for what food or money they could. Since they honed their skill in another time on the other side of the universe it’s only naturally that their brand of intergalactic rock and roll would sound like nothing else. Currently they are busy touring the United States after releasing a few successful singles and working on their full length album due to be released in 2008. They are doing all they can to spread the word of Rock and Roll salvation to protect and save the people of this world until they can return to Mosekyre and save their own people.
