When it comes to bands making a name for themselves, the Urinal Mints hold the title as the "Kings of Awesome" in the Midwest scene. With a bed-side drawer of controversial lyrics, blowup dolls, dildos, and their "fuck everyone but me" attitude, one surely knows that the Urinal Mints are here to bring you the rock and then squirt it all over your face.
It was front-man Propecia Rogaine who founded the Urinal Mints way back in 1997. Rogaine was fresh meat straight out of the ass rock scene. He wanted to take life more seriously so he packed up his tight pants and jean vest, chopped off his long flowing blonde locks and started a whole new chapter in life writing songs about smoking crack, sexing up boy bands, masturbation and stabbing children. Good wholesome entertainment.
Rogaine recruited the original Urinal Mints army and started playing shows,and after a lot of rock and roll destruction, Rogaine started losing band members one by one. There are many reasons why but we think it''s because Rogaine got all the fat and easy girls and the rest of the guys just couldn''t handle it anymore. The disbanding of the original lineup didn''t stop Rogaine from rocking. Rockers always got the chicks so he was always a mainstay in the local scene, hosting shows for local and touring punk acts at his stately Plinko Manor.
One day while pleasuring himself at the neighborhood porn store, sometime in 2000, Rogaine ran into Lukakke and William $t. William, who were also there, trying to spare change people so they could bust a nut in the jack booth. After giving them some tokens, they started to talk about music and decided that since they had so much in common, they should join the Urinal Mints.
Since that first meeting, the Urinal Mints have been building their UriNation all around the world. Playing 400+ shows everywhere from Chicago to New York to Barcelona and beyond. Some of the bands they''ve shred the stage with are Zeke, Murder Junkies, GWAR, ex-Misfits vocalist Michale Graves, DBX, Darkbuster, The Spades, The Nerds, Groovie Ghoulies, MDC, Mentors, Sloppy Seconds and many more. They have also shared the stage with well over 500 other bands from around the world. They''ve also played the Ernie Ball stage on Warped Tour 2005, and the Midwest Music Summit 2005. They''ve done 5 east coast tours, 2 opening for DBX (members of GWAR), 10 Midwest tours and
1 European tour, hitting 7 countries.
What does the future have in store for the Urinal Mints? The band has slated March 2008 for their second European tour. The band plans to release a new full length CD coinciding with the European tour and a new vinyl due out in August 07. You can bet that this will be the sleaziest stuff ever. Rogaine has also vowed not to have sex with anymore fat girls, he handed the baton to Lukakke.
