Details:
Ray Bong, the Psychedelic Guru & President of the United States of Bonnaroo has recorded his first new music with the Bongoloids since the early 80''s.

The new album is every bit as genre defying as the early 80’s Bongoloids work compiled with the 2000 release of The Awful Art of the Bongoloids. The new CD updates the Bongoloids sound, if such a thing can be said to be possible. An edgy exposition of toy guitar driven noise-pop, The Anaesthetic Revelation comes as close as possible to capturing the manic insanity of Ray Bong’s live presentations, which are legendary in the New Orleans underground scene for mowing audiences down. Four years of research went into the new CD, which was co-produced by comedy-folk street music legend Mad Mike and mixed by long-time Bongoloid Bill Loner, who also jams the fuzz guitar with Ray Bong’s toy Superstar 3000 guitar on “The President”, and adds the gas guitar sound to “Nitrous Cloud”.

The eleven tracks of The Anaesthetic Revelation demonstrate the conceptual depth of the field commanded by the Bongoloids. Special performances documented in the collection include a sample from Bong’s “State of the Union Address” as the President of the United States of Bonnaroo in 2006, his phone call to Rush Limbaugh in November 2005, complaining about the national media figure’s comments that things were “returning to normal” in post-Katrina New Orleans, and an ambient collaboration with amphibian noisicians on “Frogs Are Calling”. Ultimately, the CD’s best track could be the noise/blue grass invention of “Bong Grass Jam” which showcases the badass banjo playing of Mad Mike.

Enjoy the Noise…It’s Awful Art!
