From the ashes of Larger Than Life there was... The New Addiction.
Prior to coming together as a three piece to form TNA, Justin Linn, Roland Ware, and Tony Danger were known under their previous moniker Larger Than Life. Formed during the Summer of 1998 and as one of the premiere DIY bands coming out of their Southern California stomping ground, Larger Than Life released four records independently, earning two nominations for Best Punk Album at the San Diego Music awards in 2002 for "If Tomorrow Never Came" and again in 2005 for "And The Band Played On."
Gathering an almost cult like following, the guys toured nationally sharing the stage with such acts as Yellowcard, Taking Back Sunday, Sugarcult, Rufio, Brand New, The Movielife, Rooney, and many more, as well as with Simple Plan at MTV''s "Chiller Beach" in 2002.
After releasing their fourth album "And The Band Played On" in late March of ''05 the band went out that Summer unofficially on the Van''s Warped Tour, selling 6,000 records on their own that year alone, playing more than half the dates. In late December of that same year, the album was released in Japan where it sold 1,500 units in two months. It was at this point, however, the band decided it was time to move on and went on hiatus with the three main songwriters and driving force behind the band forming The New Addiction.
Right away the guys began working on songs that would become their first TNA release, "No Progress Without Change," again done completely DIY, tracking half the record in their own home. With overtones reaching from The Police to Elvis Costello, The New Addiction utilize they''re love of rock ''n'' roll (past and present) to fuse aggressive music and catchy melodies with heartfelt lyrics and dazzling harmonies.
