Details:
Timmy Dixon first began his musical journey when he got a guitar for Christmas at the age of 14. He instantly started teaching himself, and then took lessons at the Abilene Music Studio with Karen Kite. Timmy wrote his first song,"I Need You", only 2 weeks after his first lesson. Karen liked it and introduced him to Terry Mashburn, and Timmy continued to write songs such as "Captive", "Just Dreams", and "My Days", which was an instant Myspace hit. In June of 2005, Timmy''s musical career was slowed when he decided to focus on football, yet he still continued to write.
In October of 2005 he released the amazing single "Perfect", which in less than 2 months gained over 45,000 plays. Between this time and March 2006, he cut more songs for his upcoming album including "Not Tonight", "What You Need", "Come to Be", and "Season of Redemption". During this time, he continued to impress large crowds all over the region with his outstanding stage presence, vocal skills, and overall talent. In April 2006 Timmy released the single "Ten Mile Bridge" which became by far his biggest hit at the time. He ended up gaining the opportunity to perform that song live at the Cooper Pops concert in front of over 1,800 people, and the song alone gained over 100,000 hits on his myspace!
In the Summer of 2006 , while cutting a new version of "ten Mile Bridge", he ran into Gordon Cotten, who took a great liking to his music and happened to have played with the Who at Woodstock 99'', was a member of the John Entwistle Band, and was on one of Kiss'' albums. He decided to help Timmy produce his songs, and eventually became his legal producer. Throughout the next 6 months, more songs were written and more music was performed. The Album, "Ten Mile Bridge", kept being put to a halt simply because there was something missing, a missing ingredient that was needed to make it the perfect album. That missing ingredient was found on December 27, 2006 when at 3 in the morning, Timmy wrote what is now a hit single "Over".
Timmy, Gordon, and Terry decided it was time to hit it hard, and with the help of Philip Ellis on Drums, Tim Bosley on Bass, and Orlando Flores on Guitar, Timmy and the studio band laid down the tracks to the amazing 5 song EP, "Ten Mile Bridge". On June 14, 2007 the long awaited album, "Ten Mile Bridge", was released, and is now available to be ordered online, and soon to be available in stores! Now at 17, Timmy seems to have a long road ahead in his musical future, and will be sure to see a lot of great things to come!
