Details:
Alan Darcy was born in Staten Island, N.Y. in 1962.
The child of an Italian mother and an Irish father, he was destined to love music and food!
He grew up listening to his two older sisters wear out their Beatles, Rolling Stones and Monkees LP''s, while his parents played the albums of Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and the Big Bands of their youth.
Music was everywhere in the Darcy household. And it came in all styles, shapes and sizes.
In 1977 the soaring Sax Solo by Phil Woods on Billy Joel''s "Just the Way You Are" enchanted him. Alan bought "The Stranger" and discovered Joel''s earlier work. He fell in love with the music and the Piano Man''s tributes to New York on "Turnstiles" and "Street Life Serenade" made Alan nostalgic for the Big Apple.

In 1988 Alan''s best friend committed suicide.
It felt like someone had taken Alan, grabbed him by the legs and turned him upside down and shook the hell out of him until he couldn''t breathe.
This Smack-In-The-Face from reality made him realize how fragile life truly is and started him on his own journey to find out his own personal truth and peel away the fears that had always held him back.
His heart led him to return to his love of playing the saxophone, singing, and music.
At the ripe old age of 26, Alan decided to take a chance and follow the dreams he had long suppressed.
He produced and released his first CD, "From The Heart" in 1996 to great local reviews. The disc reflected his love for the saxophone and great players like Phil Woods, Eric Marienthal, and David Sanborn as well as the singer/songwriters he grew up listening to as a teenager like Billy Joel and Elton John.
In 1998 his partner of nine years died.
Faced once again with a devastating loss, Alan found a release and solace in writing and recording music. The anger and conflicting emotions of watching another loved one slowly die led to the birth of his second release and the title track "FLYAWAY".
Always feeling the pull between the powerful worlds of instrumental jazz and the expressiveness of strong lyrics, Alan decided to also include his passionate interpretation of Carlos Santana''s "Europa"

In 2005, thirteen years after his commitment to Music, Alan continues to delight in the fact that he does what he LOVES for a living. He has played at hundreds of jazz clubs, festivals, venues and functions throughout the country and appears regularly on radio and TV. In May of 2003 he released his 3rd CD, "FEARLESS" to rave reviews

"Fearless" is a testament to not giving up despite the odds. It''s about confronting your fears and knowing that if we look deep enough, we all have the strength to push past the demons in our own heads. It''s about learning to be true to yourself and trusting that we all have a gift for the world."

Alan has now written original music for the film, "Runs In The Family" and it is featured on "Fearless".
The title track is dedicated to his childhood friend Jimmy Leahy, N.Y.P.D. who died saving lives in at the World Trade Center on 9/11/2001
