It''s impossible to describe the anguish one experiences when told that your beautiful two year old son has a poorly understood, incurable neurologic disease. For us D-day (diagnostic day) came on 3/24/06. We went to the evaluation to be reassured that Benji didn''t have autism. We left in shock, our hearts feeling as though they had been ripped from our chests - numb, helpless and despairing.
A lot has passed in the year since Benji''s diagnosis and the details could fill a few thousand cd jackets. With time we''ve regained our hope and our confidence that Benji will recover from this mysterious disease. His treatment regimen is diverse, time-consuming, experimental and expensive - running thousands of dollars each month. Our insurance covers $500/year for "mental health" benefits which is how autism is inappropriately characterized. Yet we''re among the lucky whose child is getting the care and attention that he deserves. By purchasing this cd you''ve not only contributed to Benji''s recovery but to the future of the majority of children with autism who are being neglected by the government, the insurance companies and the school disticts.
