Karen Hudson has been writing and performing for several years, making the rounds through the New York City club circuit, including shows at the Baggott Inn, Lakeside Lounge, The Living Room, CB''s 313 Gallery, Continental, Sidewalk, Acme Underground to name a few.
With its vintage feel and straightforward jukebox sound, Bittersweet is a modern cowgirl chronicle.
Songs like "Fit More Loving In Between" and "Drove Our Love (Into the Ground) are classic heartbreak tunes told with world-weary wisdom and humor. Crowd favorite "Nicotine" is the tale of a love (of cigarettes) that''s gone up in smoke. The album''s closer, "I Thought I''d Die" is as spare and dark as an old Hank Williams song.
