Madame X
Deconstructed songs, electro-acoustic rhythms, orchestral harmonies.
Silvery Radiohead guitars, Siouxsie meets Berlin, futuristic
lullabies, twisted bass, theatrical dissonant sounds.
Amber - absinthe + marimbas.
The Madame X project began two years ago, inspired by typically
noirish ideas, by a future/past where the horror of Jess Franco
meets Dr Who and the Avengers, The Suicide and space pop.
It is a poisonous cocktail, imaginative eroticism that throws you into
a sensual, dreamlike trip.
It is intellectual, visionary, gothic irony, that is complemented by
visuals where images from ''70s Italian cartoon subculture - the photo
comic book Killing, Max Bunker''s Satanik - collide with the Chapman
brothers'' contemporary art.
It is the soundtrack to throbbing obsessions in clubs in Los Angeles,
to tribal journeys through the deserts of Greg Araki, to parties where
Sonic Youth wear Christian Dior and Christian Death dress up as the
stars of Squeeze Box.
It is the same suggestive name as the ''60s film in which Lana Turner
hides behind a non-persona, persecuted by American holier-than-thou
attitudes.
Alcoholic. Madame X.
ALESSANDRO DE BENEDETTI - voice, piano
ANDREA ZUCCOTTI - bass, programming, synth
VINS BARATTA - electric guitars, groove box
MASSIMO MARTINI - acoustic guitars, drum machine
