PICASSO BLUE shows a more real jazz or straightahead side of the bands sound. It has fiery latin,up tempo jazz, some fusion and haunting ballads.
Wayne Wayne is featured on saxes and flute. His playing has been described as "stellar" on several reviews!
Dr. Matt van Benschoten plays all the basses including a Carruthers electric upright and Bossa 6 string basses. His lyricism and powerful rhythmic sense is legendary.
John Balbuena lays the grooves down on many of the tracks and is not a bad soloist in his own right! One of Chris'' favorite keyboardists, John is also a great friend and family man.
There are 5 drummers on this cd including David Renick (original band member), Ralph Penland, Gary Q. Wing, Tony Lewis and Dan Potruch.
All give stunning and memorable performances!!
Special guest Karen Briggs is on Women In Art playing the violin. She has also worked with Yanni and Stanley Clarke!
