Details:
The Unemployed Teachers 2006 release of "End of an Empire and the Birth of a Wax Tadpole" completes a trilogy of fantasy based CD''s that originate in the mythical land of ZOR. In this final CD, the empire of ZOR comes to an end with the birth of a wax tadpole. The music is experimental, interesting, and pleasantly humorous with guitar playing reminding one of Pink Floyd, The Beatles, or Neil Young.
The Unemployed Teachers formed as a jazz-rock-folk band to explore songs being penned by Mark Owen Nutto. It was comprised of musicans from urban Hoboken New Jersey and rural Hunterdon County. The Bands first release, "All that Exists from the Lost Chronicles of Ancient ZOR" (1986) received substantial radio airplay in Hoboken. The Bands second release, "Love and Folk Songs from the Central Plains of ZOR" (1988) expanded the bands following and airplay into the Newark and New Brunwick areas. Following this, the band went into a period of dormancy as members graduated from college and dispersed. In 2006, the release of "The End of an Empire and the Birth of a Wax Tadole" finds the band back onto radio and the return of live performances.
